Alex was born December 16, 1942 at Zhoda |Manitoba.

Alex was encouraged by his older brother and started playing guitar at age 6.

At age 13 after concurring the guitar, Alex took up the violin.

Alex had no formal training, it was all learn to do by doing.

By age 17 the Danylchuk family formed a band “The Frazer River Boys”

They played everywhere from Regina Saskatchewan to Thunder Bay Ontario.

They played at weddings and other functions for over 50 years.

They still play occasionally at various functions.

Alex also plays with other groups such as Ukrainian Old Timers and Night Winds Band.
